Having secured a podium in round one in Abu Dhabi and been a constant front runner last time out in Dubai, Sussex teenager Jack Bartholomew was paired with a new partner for the final round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Muddle East series in Dubai last weekend. FFF Racing by ACM continued its successful run with the team adding another three podiums to the tally at the conclusion of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East series.
The result sealed second position overall for the team in the championship race and third overall for Bartholomew in the drivers’ championship.
The #5 Lamborghini Huracan with Jack Bartholomew and new team mate Devon Modell, started race one from a disappointing 12th position on the grid but a flurry of blistering laps from Bartholomew in his stint ensured the Sussex driver would bring the Roger Dubuis backed Lamborghini home in 5th place after a last lap manoeuvre to steal the position and secure valuable championship points.
Race two Bartholomew started from 6th position and had already made up places in the opening lap. Determined to finish the championship on a high, Bartholomew set about catching the leaders and after his thirty-minute stint had made up two positions bringing the car in for the compulsory driver swap in fourth place. New team mate Devon Modell managed to pass the third place car and then set off to catch the 2nd position car of Schreiner and Goddard who were driving the FFF Racing team’s sister car but, although catching by nearly a second a lap, there was not enough time to challenge for the position and he crossed the line in a respectable third, securing Jack third place in the overall championship.
“It’s been a great championship for us,” stated FFF Racing Team Owner Sean Fu Songyang. “We have had podiums and impressive races in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Jack has used this championship to good effect in readiness for Super Trofeo Asia Championship”.
Jack Bartholomew “I’ve had a fantastic time in the UAE and am very happy with my performance in the Lamborghini Huracan which was new to me this year along with all new tracks. I can’t wait to get to Asia now and carry on working with the team, hopefully with more chances of podiums and wins. I will now be training harder than ever to be ready for Sepang (Malaysia) as it will be for sure the most physically demanding race weekend of my career to date.
The Asian Super Trofeo Championship gets underway at Sepang, Malaysia on 7-9 April.
